Van Hire Terms & Conditions

Payment

Payment in full is to be made when the hire commences, any extra costs i.e. extended hire or late charges can be settled when the vehicle is returned off hire. Credit card details will be taken at the time of hire and any subsequent charges will be made this credit card should there be any damage, late charges etc.

Fuel

The hirer is responsible for supplying their own fuel and no refunds will be given to fuel left in vehicles when returned off hire.

Price

All rates are calculated as a period of 24 hours and include insurance. If the hirer wishes to self insure any vehicle then rates are available upon request.

Drivers Responsibilities

The hirer is responsible for: –

  • checking water, oil & tyres on a daily basis
  • insuring the vehicle and keys are kept safe from any loss or damage
  • any fixed penalty notices received during the rental period
  • informing the lessor of any damage, theft, or loss immediately

Insurance

All vehicles are fully insured for self drive and only the approved are insured to drive the vehicle, should you require a 2nd driver to be insured, there will be extra costs involved.

Loss/Damage

All accidents are to be reported within 24 hours of the occurrence. The hirer must get full details from all other parties and any witnesses and never admit liability. Any accident caused by the driver’s negligence will conclude in the hirer being fully responsible for all repairs. The lessor takes no responsibility for loss or damage to any goods kept in hire vehicle.

Age

Hirers must be aged 25-72 with a satisfactory driving record. Any hirer who has previously had their licence retracted will be unable to be covered on our insurance.

Extension of Hire

Extension of hire can be arranged as long as the vehicle on hire is available, if the vehicle is not available, we will do our best to offer a suitable replacement. Any extensions to hire must be notified to the lessor immediately and payment made to cover the extension. Failure to inform the lessor would result in late charges and insurance issues.

Identification

All hirer’s will need to produce the following identification to hire a vehicle : –

When arriving to hire a vehicle, you will need to bring a valid photo ID Driving Licence card, a driving licence check code (you will need to create a licence check code via the DVLA website), a utility bill to match the licence address and a credit/debit card for payment. The paper counterpart of your licence is replaced by the licence check code as of 8 June 2015.

A valid driving licence, if the old style licence a further photo identification will be required, no photocopies will be accepted. The licence should also correspond to the hirers address, if this does not match then further photo identification will be required.

Two other forms of identification with your home address, one must be a utility bill in the hirer’s name.
